Easter Fun Camp.gif)
This certainly was a fabulous camp... booked out weeks in advance the players were all up for wokring hard and havinga good time!
Thursday saw Mavericks Assistant Coach Jo Webb and Youth player Josie Huckle working on attacking skills with the players as they were pushed to their limits (quite a few runs to whip them into shape). By the end of the day everybody was pouncing onto the ball and able to turn to face the goal as well as shouting VERY loudly if the Mavericks chant was initiated. "Ready, Let's Go.... MAVERICKS!" The players were excellent at getting free and working well on improving their passing too.

On Friday Mavericks player Georgia Schmidt (who is originally from Australia and now teaches in Kent) was the Head Coach with Josie still assisting. The focus of the day was definitely challenging as the players had to work on t heir defending skills - in particular their peripheral vision and intercepting. Some players were amazing at putting this into the matches but others found it hard... not to worry as practise makes perfect!
There were some awards for players identified by the coaches including; Great Attitude = Cathy, Rising Star = Lauren, Super Worker = Rhia & Fantastic Effort = Michelle & Rhiannon. Prizes included mini balls, netballs and tickets to Mavericks matches 2010/11.

A big thanks to the coaches for making the event such fun and a special well done to Josie who was partially on crutches! That's dedication for you... Well done to all the players too - they worked EXTREMELY hard and were brilliant. We hope that they can take their skills back to their schools and clubs and win lots of matches. Let's see you all on the next camp... to see if we can improve our Ball Juggling!
