Netball Europe Champs 2008
20th January 2008

The netball calendar for the coming year is certainly a busy one, but there are a few key events that supporters need to be available of where they can see their favourite England players hit the court. The Netball Europe Championships are taking place in venues relatively close to home, so if you want to get to support our England players, you need to be organising your trip now!

This is the normal Celtic Dragons home venue. we would thoroughly recommend going to Cardiff as it is an amazing city and catching up on some of the best up and coming talent in Britain is a great excuse to go! Ticket Booking Form. England Squad - Coach: Jo Munnion, Assistant Coach: Helene Hall, Manager: Helen Mitchell, Athletes: Sam Cook, Zoe Murdoch, Ella Clark, Becky Cantin, Masego Moatang, Sophie Freemantle, Sophia Candappa, Laura Malcom, Beth Cobden, Emma Dovey, Kadeen Corbin and Layla Guscoth.

There is no longer an official Netball Europe website which is a real shame as this year the competition has earned ranking status which means that countries can use these results to count towards entry into major events.

The other interesting fact is that the Irish, Scottish and Welsh teams have steadily been improving over the last few seasons and are starting to make England have to work for any wins. Each season the level rasises and the competition gets stiffer, it will be interesting to see if the usual England clean sweep is achieved as over the the last ten years England have traditionally dominated this competition. The better that the other teams get, the more England have to be pushed and this is great news as we want local accessibly pressure from our neighbours so we can keep improving as a nation.
