The Netball Europe Championships took place last week end and two Internetball coaches featured heavily in the success of the England U17's competition. England Under 17 Head Coach Jo Munnion and Assistant Coach Helene Hall, helped their young and extremely talented team take some amazing games by huge margins to win the championship in style.
The youngest England representative side saw quite a few players from in and around the East Region playing, two Mavericks players Zoe Murdoch and Sophia Candappa appeared on court and Ella Clark and Kadeen Corbin who both trained at the Basildon extension centre also featured in the squad.
The first match was against Scotland and the players took a while to settle in but the score was still very convincing! Q1 Eng 16 - Scot 4, Q2 Eng 32 - Scot 9, Q3 Eng 52 - Scot 14 and Q4 Eng 70 - Scot 16. The England team won the last quarter 18 - 2 and this game certainly set the standard for the rest of the tournament.

England vs Wales
Q1 Eng 12 - NINA 7
Q2 Eng 26 - NINA 11
Q3 Eng 37 - NINA 13
Q4 Eng 52 - NINA 16
The atmosphere for this match was firey as the crowd which was predominantly welsh boo'd and made noises at the English success.
With nearly 100 shot attempts or more (155 against Gibraltar) per match the defenders gained in confidence and eventually were concentrating and working so hard that any oppsotion had to work their socks off to even score a few goals.
A fantistic event for all involved and we are very proud of our two coaches Jo Munnion and Helene Hall for heading this group to their success. This is their second year of being in charge of the group and is a great reflection of their hard work.
