Busy Webb with Baby!
20th December 2009

The autumn/winter saw Jo Webb (nee Munnion) expanding her waistline steadily as her baby grew but this did not stop the coaching and netball education! Waddling about in training sessions and on the sidelines at matches,"it was becoming difficult to pick up a ball towards the end" said Jo "but I was so pleased to keep coaching for such a long time".

On December 16th (only two days after coaching at the Mavericks vs Leeds Sky TV match in Hatfield), little Lana Webb came into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 7oz. "Paul & I are so happy Lana has arrived and look forwards to getting her to come matches soon!"

Mavericks Coaching

Just to add to the challenges this season, Jo stepped up from junior coaching at NTL level to seniors! Working as a Technical Coach alongside Maggie Jackson, Karen Atkinson & Amanda Newton, Jo has taken sessions involving Mavericks (and a number of current and past England players). This then led to assisting at CNSL matches (some of which have been on Sky Sports). "It has been absolutely fantastic to work with these players and coaches and just reinforces that this is something I love doing - the challenge is great!"

Cambridgeshire County Academy

Jo has also been working with Cambs CA alongside other staff to continue her work helping Cambs to develop their young talented players. Although some of the players found the style of delivery quite demanding the majority of the players threw themselves at the tasks and also really enjoyed the sessions.

Intosport Website

There is an exciting new and free website that people can access to find out information about netball skills, tactics etc. Jo Webb has been involved in editing sections of the website to offer technical advice to the Intosport team to make sure their site is accurate. They use young talented players such as England's Jo Harten to show what young players should be aiming for. This is a fantastic resource and Internetball would recommend any player or coach takes a look at this visually stunning and technically accurate site. http://www.intosport.com/academies/netball-academy

We hope to bring a full article soon but suggest reading the Netball Magazine or having a look yourself!

Northampton High School

Alongside all these other bits Jo Webb has also been working at the Northampton High School, predominantly on their netball sessions and help their players develop their skills and understanding. The players loved the challenges that Jo set and worked hard to improve thier skills the autumn.
